Mit ihrer raumbezogenen Installation On Observing Repetition beschäftigt sich Debora Ando mit dem Spannungsfeld sich wiederholender Strukturen des Fließens, wie sie voreinander getrennt und isoliert sind, und sich gleichzeitig gegenseitig definieren. Diese Strukturen umfassen räumliche Störungen im Gleichgewichtszustand eines Systems, deren Ausbreitung einmalig oder auch periodisch sein kann. In dieser Arbeit untersucht die Künstlerin, wie sich Kraft und Erschöpfung zueinander verhalten und wie die daraus entstehenden strukturellen Diskontinuitäten in ein Ganzes münden.

With her site-specific installation On Observing Repetition, 2025 Debora Ando explores the field of tension created by recurring structures of undulating surface patterns, how they are separated and isolated from one another, yet at the same time mutually define each other. These structures include spatial disturbances in a system’s state of equilibrium, whose propagation may be singular or periodic. In this work, the artist examines how force and exhaustion relate to one another, and how the resulting structural discontinuities converge into a whole.
